Pride magazine ~ Celebrating 25 Years At The Top!
I must admit I haven’t read Pride magazine for a long time, I mean a really long time, I’m talking yeeeeaaarrrrs, so I was pleasantly surprised when the fashion and beauty editor Shevelle Rhule asked if she could feature me in the August edition of Pride.
This led me to ask myself why did I stop reading Pride? after all it’s one of the few magazines in the UK for black women, When I was young I used to buy Pride magazine all the time I remember liking the mag but then I just stopped I also remember that there wasn’t really any other competition for Pride so maybe something was missing, healthy competition is good it keeps you on your toes pushing you forward to be better than yesterday.
I don’t actually remember a specific reason why I stopped but after reading the August edition front page to back, I am re-converted I’m signing up for a year’s subscription (after I write this blog post) the stories & features are very informative and actually speak to me, a black ambitious stylish loving female professional trying to navigate her way in this beautiful but sometimes harsh world.
