FESTIVE ANKARA PRINT FASHION

THE FESTIVE SEASON IS UPON US…

And the possibilities of a new year filled with Ankara print goodies are becoming more and more palpable.

It is the perfect time for a final look at this past year. a recap of sorts, in keeping with Mammaw’s philosophy, which ties the past and the future into a solid present.

Our brand’s use of traditional Ankara print materials and modern geometric designs is intended to include all types of women from all walks of life. It has grown from a creative fantasy imagined by founder and designer Shantel MamMaw in her London flat to a thriving business that is steadily gaining momentum on the UK fashion scene. 2016 has fortunately kept us on that forward trend.

AFRICA UTOPIA

One of the most memorable moments of this year was Mammaw’s showcase at the fabulous Africa Utopia event in Southbank. It was a celebration of African culture in all its guises: music, art, literature, food and fashion – just to name a few. The team was so inspired! Our pop-up shop had its fair share of customers, new and old, and some showing off their Mammaw outfits!

WHAT ELSE DID 2016 BRING FOR MAMMAW?

Higher visibility for one. Plenty of attention from the press was much appreciated.

Writer and musician Amaka Iyizoba has joined our creative team. She’ll be involved in all things media. Watch this space!

And last but not least, we expanded our product line to include more variety of gorgeous styles and a very important item on our agenda: more sizes!! We are proud to announce that most styles now come in sizes 8 through 18.

“You invoke a new future when you envision your past in the light of your present.”

― Eric Micha’el Leventhal

Well, this year has been a blast, but it is time to move on. Onwards and upwards everyone!

We’ll see you in 2017!
