MAMMAW AFRICAN CLOTHING BRAND - RETURNS TO: Afro Hair & Beauty Live 2022!
“We've taken part many times at Afro Hair & Beauty Live in the past, but the energy this year feels different - a much-needed event after the pandemic,” says Shantel MamMaw, founder of MamMaw African Clothing brand.
MamMaw had returned to the popular hair and beauty event as a regular pop-up shop, bringing our best sellers with us, including the Makemba Bridesmaid Dress, the Koko Kimono in the golden sun print, and the Halima High Low Dress.
This year, Afro Hair & Beauty Live celebrated its 40th year with exciting highlights, and MamMaw African Clothing was thrilled to be a part of it again. The event attracted familiar faces such as Kojo, the comedian and award-winning fashion designer Adebayo Jones, and Lydia and Alma, YouTube influencers. Vanessa, a motivational YouTube influencer, also made an appearance.
One of the highlights of the event was the visit from Kaya Comer-Schwartz, the first black deputy head councillor of Islington, who took a keen interest in MamMaw's beautiful African clothing line displayed at our pop-up shop.
“We were upstairs at stand 69 near the stage where all the action was happening. The mornings were quiet, but the afternoon slowly got busy as the day progressed,” said MamMaw's team.
Long-time customers and supporters of MamMaw Boutique came to visit us at stand 69, and the energy was electric. “It was our best year yet! Everyone was so happy to be out at an event with some form of normalcy after the pandemic,” they added.
MamMaw African Clothing continues to be a hit at the event, and visitors were excited about the new six styles added to their ready-to-wear collection. We are thrilled to have been a part of Afro Hair & Beauty Live’s 40th-year celebration.
“We're excited to come back to the event next year and continue showcasing our beautiful African clothing line,” Shantel MamMaw.
